2016 Australian GP

Finally the Australian GP is just round the corner! After the winter break, the new car launches and 8 days of testing over 2 weeks, it’s finally time for the 2016 F1 season and that means it’s also time for our first race preview of the new year!

We’ve got 3 rookie drivers this time round (Palmer, Wehrlein and Haryanto) and a new team in Haas, all making their F1 debuts in Melbourne this weekend and of course a new name and owner for the “troubled” Lotus team as Renault are now in their 3rd incarnation on the grid.

There’s been loads of speculation over the winter about McLaren’s Honda engine after last year’s, seemingly endless, catalogue of problems and testing hasn’t shown anything to suggest that they are back on terms with the front of the grid. Talking of which, are Ferrari going to be able to make up any ground on Mercedes or are the sliver arrows going to keep up or even stretch their advantage from 2015?

As with every first race of the season, there’s loads to talk about and we try to cover as much of it as we can in this week’s podcast, if we’ve missed anything or you want to send us your thoughts, drop us a line here or on Twitter (@3legs4wheels). Also we’ll be live-blogging the race on Sunday Morning from 4AM UK time at 3legs4wheels.com so feel free to join us then as well!

Enjoy
