George Russell will start the British Grand Prix from pole position as the British drivers starred in changable conditions in qualifying at Silverstone.
Last week’s race winner will start alongside his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton on the front row, with McLaren’s Lando Norris completing the top three.
There had been heavy rain falling over circuit throughout the morning, but it had stopped by the start of qualifying, meaning the drivers headed out onto a drying track.
The session was halted when Sergio Perez spun and got stuck in the gravel trap, with the rain starting to fall again before the end of the red flag period.
Max Verstappen made a similar error to his teammate, but managed to keep his Red Bull pointing in the right direction and was able to rejoin the track.
The track continued to dry throughout Q2, but Charles Leclerc couldn’t make the best of the drying line, missing out on a place in the top 10.
Verstappen was unable to challenge for pole, as he struggled for grip, while Nico Hulkenberg gives Haas their best start of the season in sixth.
