Max Verstappen will start the Austrian Grand Prix from pole position after getting the better of Lando Norris in qualifying at the Red Bull Ring.
After winning the sprint race this morning, Verstappen looked comfortable throughout qualifying to ensure he’ll start at the front of the field.
Lando Norris starts second, and it looked like his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri would be towards the front as well, but the Australian lost his best lap time for a track limits issue.
Charles Leclerc’s hopes of challenging the front runners were dealt a blow when he ran wide through the gravel, bouncing and damaging his Ferrari.
Aston Martin’s qualifying struggles continued, with Lance Stroll eliminated in Q1 before Fernando Alonso struggled in Q2, while Daniel Ricciardo missed out on a spot in Q3 by just 0.015s.
