Episode 216 – The Old RedBull Switcheroo (Again)

So RedBull have done it (and not on a Tuesday), Alex is in and Pierre is out (only out as far as Toro Rosso though). Can’t help but think we’ve seen this before once or twice. OK so it worked well when they replaced Daniil Kvyat with Max in 2017, but not so well with the rotating lineup in the early days of Christian Klien, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Robert Doornbos all partnering David Coulthard over the course of their first 2 seasons. And of course that means mid-season changes for Toro Rosso at the same time, which will be the 4th season that the “junior” outfit has used more than 2 drivers in a year (remember the days of Scott Speed?)

This week on the show we discuss their thinking behind making the move mid-season and share a lot of tweets and messages that we got from listeners. Also on this week’s podcast, there’s a bit of a special. As you’ll all know by now we make an extra show every week that we put out to our subscribers on Patreon So this week we’ve decided to add it on to the end of the main podcast as a Summer Break special. So don’t switch off at the end of the F1 show, or you’ll miss out on half an hour’s extra (non-F1) stuff from us!

There’s also the usual stuff as well with an updated Formula Lee challenge, it’s now Baku in the dry in a 2004 Ferrari (beacuse Paul didn’t know that the original choice of car wasn’t available in all versions of the game) a very tricky Who’s A Total Shunt and our usual tangents. Also don’t forget to sign up for our league in the official Fantasy F1 game and we’ve got our own predictions league running too that you can take part in and if you want your own 3Legs4Wheels t-shirt  you can get one from our shop at Teepublic

Enjoy
