2 races in and 2 1-2 finishes for Mercedes with Valtteri Bottas leading the championship by dint of his bonus point for a fastest lap in Australia. Are we in for a repeat of 2018 where Ferrari had the faster car at the start of the year, but couldn’t capitalise on it fully and Mercedes went on to dominate the season?
This morning will go some ways to show us who is winning the development race at the moment as in the 3 practice sessions Bottas topped the timesheets in 2 of them with Sebastian Vettel fastest in the first session on Friday Morning. But winning the practice race is the same as winning the winter testing championship and it’s now the first session where lap times count for something. Paul’s here to take you through qualifying and we’ll find out if Ferrari can recapture some of their lost ground.
