Renault have confirmed more details about Robert Kubica’s follow up test after his impressive performance at Valencia last month. The returning driver will take part in a session at the Paul Ricard circuit in the next few weeks to “assess his capabilities to return to the highest level of competition”
According to MD of Renault Sport Racing, Cyril Abiteboul “the first day of testing at Valencia was no more than to let Robert get reacquainted with the feel of driving again, this is a new phase in his personal and professional journey and he knows better than anyone else that only his performance will determine if he can one day return to being a professional driver.”
They would say that though, this seems like they’re staking a claim to him while trying to put other teams off the scent that he might be able to make a successful comeback for 2018, however his ability even now is a known quantity and ever Autosport are championing his cause )although they’d rather see him in a Ferrari!)

However this works out it’s good to see that he’s even got himself to the point where he can drive an F1 car again and we’ll be watching this with interest
