What we know so far is that Mercedes want Valtteri Bottas to replace Nico Rosberg, but where would that leave Williams? It now looks like the Grove team is going to offer Felipe Massa a new deal to come out of retirement and drive for the team again in 2017, making it one of the shortest F1 retirements since Nigel Mansell announced his retirement in the middle of a torrid 1990 season with Ferrari, before he changed his mind and went back to Williams for 1991 (hang on a minute, we’re seeing a bit of a theme here…)
There’s some other news on this week’s podcast as well, with a look at the new Ferrari 3rd driver Antonio Giovinazzi and some more speculation on the 3 other remaining seats at the teams at the back of the grid, which could include the return of podcast favourite “human wrecking ball” Pastor Maldonado!
We’d also like to take this time to thnk everyone for listening to us ramble on in 2016 and wish all our listeners and their families a Happy Christmas and a great new year.
We’re taking a break next week, but we’ll be back with the first show of 2017 in a couple of weeks time where we’ll look back at this season, have bit of an F1 quiz and give our version of the 2016 awards
